International mobility is defined by outgoing students and incoming students. They are ruled by agreements and structured programs such as Open Mobility Programs, Specific Mobility Programs, Special Mobility Programs and Short-Term Internships.

Open Mobility

This mobility is defined in the exchange agreements and/or “framework” general agreements that allow one-semester exchanges, and in special cases, one-year exchanges in all the areas or disciplines available in our university and partner institutions.

Specific Mobility

This mobility is defined in specific areas and/or between faculties or departments, allowing the exchange in predefined fields. There are mobility programs in the areas of speech and hearing therapy, nursing, translation and interpretation, among others.

  • MARCA Program (MERCOSUR):
    This program promotes reciprocal knowledge on the academic training of the accredited undergraduate academic programs, the comparability of curriculum structures and the accreditation of courses of the MERCOSUR countries.
    It includes the Faculty of Agronomy with countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia. Partial financing through the FDI.

  • Vocation as a Teacher Study Grants:

Special Programs

They are defined as short-term programs generally for specific areas or disciplines. Immersion programs in the areas of languages, culture, astronomy, business and natural environment are included.

  • Astronomy Immersion Program with the University of Cincinnati:
    This a two-week program (short-term) with the University of Cincinnati, United States in the astronomy area. Here the students have the opportunity to visit astronomical observatories in northern Chile.

  • Nursing Practice Immersion Program
    This is an exchange program with St. Cloud State University. The purpose of this program is to allow the students to embrace an on-field experience to know the way in which the profession is developed, and the emphases given on that country.

Internships

This program offers a professional training opportunity to students of the Faculty of Education of UdeC through a one-semester internship in public schools of the Minnetonka district. This program is financially supported by the Minnetonka district and our university, which allows the students to stay in the United States for one semester. To date, 47 students from different academic programs of the Faculty of Education (Nursery Education, Basic Education, Spanish Teaching, History) have participated in this program.

  • University Immersion Program:
    This program offers foreign students the opportunity to learn the Spanish language through an academic experience and an immersion process within the local culture. For this, each student will live with a Chilean family for one semester and will have travels for knowledge acquisition related to the culture and geography. Regarding the academic area, the student must complete 15 credits by taking two mandatory courses (Spanish Language and Latin American literature) and 3 courses chosen from the student’s interest area.

 

  • Language and Culture Short-Term Program:
    This program offers foreign students the opportunity to learn the Spanish language by living an academic experience and participating in knowledge-acquisition activities related to the local culture. This program is conceived for foreign students who want to spend their vacation period living a Study Abroad experience at St. Cloud State University. Regarding the academic area, the student must take two mandatory courses (Spanish Language and one elective course related to the specialty) and visits to places of cultural, economic, historical or natural interest.

 

  • Art Immersion Program:
    This program offers foreign students the opportunity to learn about art and culture through an academic experience and participating in knowledge-acquisition activities related to the local culture. This program is conceived for foreign students who want to spend their vacation period living a Study Abroad experience.

 

  • SCSU-UdeC Academic Exchange Program:
    This program is a cooperation opportunity to do internships up to one semester involving teaching and research work. This program has made it possible to deliver courses in cooperation with the Social Sciences, Anthropology, Sociology and Hispanic Linguistics areas.

 

  • Nazareth College:
    This program promotes the learning of the English language for scholars, students and administrative staff to participate in intensive English courses in the United States.

  • French Language Program for Mobility and Exchange:
    This program facilitates mobility to students of all academic programs to achieve proficiency level B1 according to the Common European Framework of reference for languages. It allows the students to apply for grants and do internships in a French-speaking university.
